Ministerial visit to Mason Head Office

Mason Land Surveys head office was visited this April by the Dunfermline & West Fife MP, Willie Rennie along with his Scottish Parliament counterpart Jim Tolson MSP and Elspeth Attwooll, the Liberal Democrat European Parliamentary Minister for Scotland. As all Minsters are based in Scotland and in particular Fife, the request to visit our business to understand exactly what we do as one of the larger and more diverse employers in the area was welcomed. All Ministers receivid a tour of the building meeting with operators at all levels and disciplines and learnt much about our line of work in the UK and our contribution to major infrastructure developments in Britain at this time.

Pictured above is one of our many Leica instruments being tested on our property by Willie Rennie, who has had reason to use on in the past! and on the right Elspeth Attwooll viewing a digital stereo image of the Millenium Dome in our Photogrammetric / 3D Capture production area (image of Elspeth Attwooll, courtesy of Iain Dale).

New Systems in Mason Repro

Mason Reprographics has recently invested in a new Oce TCS 500 hybrid system. The new device provides Mason and its retail customers with fast wide format; colour copying, colour scanning & colour plotting onto any of the 3 rolls installed and on-line at any time.

The system was chosen to supplement the existing reprographics devices in-situ (various HP plotters, Oce 9600 & Colortrac scanner) as the demand for technical colour has risen sharply and pressure to produce colour copies, as well as colour scans quickly without compromise in quality were ever increasing.
For further information on the services Mason Reprographics provides, please visit the web site by clicking here or by emailing repro@mason.co.uk.

Sub-Surface Utility Detection & Mapping

Ground penetrating radar detection has now become part of the Mason offering. Sub-surface utility detection and mapping for developments is becoming increasingly more important for all concerned with a project especially for re-development of sites. The tracing and mapping we undertake uses the latest twin antenna GPR system combined with GPS accuracy, to enable rapid identification and location of shallow and deep buried plastic water and gas mains to name a few. All services are recorded digitally.

Based from our Northern office, the Sub-surface team provide service nationwide, for further information please contact us by email at subsurface@mason.co.uk.
