Digital Photographic Management System
The capture and provision of high resolution digital image databases based on the use of Spheron HDR (High Dynamic Range) camera and Scene360 software.
We produce full 360 degree panorama of building interiors and external views using a rotating camera unit. Unlike some other systems which rely on stitching individual images together to form a panorama the system we use captures all details in one spherical image.
One of the impressive features of our HDR system is the ability to record all details within a scene across up to 26 f-stops without any adjustment enabling detail in deep shadow to be recorded as clearly as backlit windows on the same image. Also, the camera will record at resolutions of up to 50mp so that even objects distant from the camera can be clearly seen.
Software enables images to be supplied in a format which can be viewed as “walk-throughs” on any Windows based system without the requirement for any additional software. The end product may also be re-processed to a web friendly format for ease of access and sharing. The heart of our system is a visual database enabling dynamic updating as well as maintenance of an historic archive.
The system can be applied wherever high resolution images are required and with the high image resolution, can be applied to large interior spaces as well as smaller spaces.

Scene360 software enables a complete visual database to be prepared. The location of each spherical image is shown on a floor plan background as an icon which links to the image and enables the user to navigate through the images on a site. The location of other images of documents can be accessed by links such as images taken with other digital cameras (such as specific details of fittings) and related documents such as specification sheets and inspection records.
Single images can provide a highly detailed visual record but by capturing two images in a room, accurate measurements can be generated by the user between any two points in the panoramic image using a photogrammetric process.
For over 25 years Mason has been providing clients with measurement, mapping and record imagery from photographs. The use of an HDR system to provide a digital image database is an extension of this service to meet current and future demand for geo-visual information recording, management and archiving requirements.
